These popovers (cute name eh!?) are an easy creation that don’t take long at all. Popovers are delicious with a roast meal, warm and fresh from the oven. Just like Yorkshire puddings, but way cooler!
Serves 6
To make Popovers, you will need:
1 cup flour
1 cup milk
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 Tablespoon vegetable oil
How to make Popovers:
Preheat oven to 210˚ C
Mix all ingredients in a medium mixing bowl with a whisk.
Divide batter and ladle equal portions into greased 6 cup muffin tray.
Do not let the batter sit but bake immediately for best results.
Bake for 30 min or until smooth and golden brown. Baking may take up to an hour.
Once removed from the oven remove from the tray and tilt them slightly to let the steam escape – this is to avoid the Popovers becoming soggy.
Makes 6.
